Additionally, it interferes with the installation of software that you KNOW is trustworthy. If you have already installed Avast! I suggest that you dump it with AvastClear. That is the only decent application they have produced.

When you’re doing a complete system scan, it is always going to take a considerable amount of time. Avast’s Mac Security seems to take exceptionally long. It took more than 4 hours to complete a total system scan. During testing, it was impossible to tell how much time was remaining in the system scan.
Immediately after testing started, the progress bar jumped up to percent and then continued to increase the percentage count, with no further movement in the bar.
If you don’t already have virus protection in place on your Mac, this is a worthy choice. It is streamlined, easy to use, and has all of the features that you need in this type of software. This software will cripple your iMac to the point where it’s unusable.
The updates take an age to do and makes every other app run super slow. Safari in particular took an age to launch. The software kept launching a built in VPN also which I couldn’t stop or get rid of.

Easy to understand interface, non-intrusive, and reliable. My e-mails loaded like molasses and my computer routinely was virtually shut down for an hour every time AVAST downloaded updates to the antivirus file.
Avast is wrapped in a pleasant and easy-to-use interface which provides fast access to the av status, scanning methods, tools, portable devices with Avast installed for remote control smartphones, tablets , statistics real-time and historical data, component status , as well as the rich configuration area, and animated tray icon based on different events.
It is possible to perform a quick scan in areas where malware is known to hide, complete by taking into account the entire computer, in removable drives only, custom directories, or at every Windows boot in autostart processes and services.
It is not necessary to change any settings, since Avast has a pretty decent default configuration.
