Budda Guedes is a Portuguese guitar player and singer totally deluxe with music who always does a non-stop work to investigate along music windy roads. He leads different projects like Budda Power Band which represented Portugal at European Blues Challenge in Torrita di Siena, or the acoustic blues duo with Nuno Andrade among other projects, besides teaching guitar or devote himself to many other bluesy activities.
On the other hand singer Maria Joao is well known in Portugal jazz circles. Both meet on stage and immediately appeared a good friendship both personal and at a musical level, so they decided to record this cd.
Both share deluxe passion and respect for blues and jazz which makes this recording become a highly recommended one. The album studio co-produced by Janice Mancuso 2013 Doug Macleod himself. Some songs include other musicians like Denny Croy on bass, Jimmy Bott on drums and Oliver Brown on percussion, while the rest present Doug MacLeod singing alone only backed by his acoustic guitar.

It is surprising and rather strange that an artist with quality enough and excellent vocal qualities has published his first album aged seventy-three. This is what has happened to Bobby G who, backed by an excellent band like Curtis Grant And The Midnight Rockers and with the clever production of the always respectable Johnny Rawls, appears with this album as one of those old hidden talents which is always a pleasure to discover.
Bobby has a suggestive voice gifted with a broad vocal range. He also gathers an emotional intensity, which communicates a great feeling, both when he sings blues or when he performs soul and rhythm and blues, three styles that have no secrets for him.
Born in Winterville, Mississippi, like so many other children, he had to work in the cotton fields. Only aged eleven, he tried to get in juke joints where he listened to B. King, Mississippi Slim or Bobby Bland and he dreamed he will one day become a singer like them.
Without a single coin in his pocket, he moved to Toledo, Ohio where, for thirty-nine years, he worked here and there in the most diverse jobs and sang on weekends in different clubs, bars, restaurants, cafes or barbecues.
He left aside the music to devote himself to his family, coming back again some time ago. Now, in the twilight of his career, he has had the opportunity to show all his undeniable talent in this excellent recording that I hope will help him to get the recognition he deserves.
Bossa Nova Beatniks After so many years together, finally Tom decided to satisfy his friend and record an album without click track and come back again to the simplicity and rock and rock and roll roots. Both musicians spent a month selecting the songs and when they had already chosen them, they forwarded them to guitar player Ron Rahilly who, after listening to them at home, came to the studio and felt immediately integrated in the sound and the spirit that the other two musicians wanted to capture.
