The cache buffers chains latches are pro to protect a buffer list in the buffer cache. These latches are used when searching for, adding, or removing a buffer from the buffer cache.

Blocks in the buffer cache are placed on linked lists cache buffer chains which hang off a hash tableHow correspond with each other buckets, buffershandlesblocks and hash table?

All memory in SGA, bit in the buffer cache and in the shared pool is allocated randomly. The memory is managed by a linked list, also called a chain. Your session needs to traverse that list to find the memory you are looking for.

During that operation no other session can traverse that chain, as the number of 04080 is limited, and you have a latch on that chain. If you increase memory, the number of chains doesn’t increase, only the chains get longer.

Your traversal will take longer, and you will latch that chain longer. Increase the buffer cache into the sky, and you will suffer from ‘cache chain latches’ Increase the shared pool into the sky, and you will suffer from the library cache latch.

You start increasing the shared pool to increase the hit ratio. However, as the number of different statements is completely random, you will never reach You will get hurt by the library catch chain though.

Burleson and Mike R. Ault, and Richard J. Niemic doesn’t help, EVER. Fix bit app Fix the app Fix the app. We are building a hash database. Our data consist of a string key, which is about 20 characters long and the value is a number, which represents the frequency of that string in a text collection.

The number value is inserted as a string. The problem is that the time it takes to insert new records in the space increases as we add more records. I have read many of the discussions on this forum and I found many similar situations, but none that actually appear to solve the problem.

We process records as they occur in the text collection. We programmatically compute a bunch of records and then want to insert them as quickly as possible. We anticipate security tens of millions perhaps more than million of records.

Some of these records are duplicates of data already in the db. In this case, we want to increment the count in the db. Using default parameters in a test program, and a MB cache, the first inserts consisting of, say 10, records take less than a second.

By the time we reach 2 million records in the database, each insert takes 5 seconds, by the time we hit 5 million, it takes about 9 seconds. In our full program, running on Ubuntu, we have tried different page sizes and fillfactors, but we have not come up with a combination that is really any better.

Each batch is about a million records long and the delays are substantial with running times of many days. My main question is how can we get this task done in a reasonable amount of time?

Secondary question is why do we get overflow pages when our data are so small? No key should be more than about bytes and no value is likely to be anywhere near that large.

Are you suggesting that we do allow duplicates and then during retrieval, just use the duplicate with the largest number to get our space No, I’m sorry, I misunderstood that part from your first update.

I don’t think that sorting the records will help. Maybe the default hashing function doesn’t perform well on your keys, so you might want to try to define your own hash function: Knowing in advance the expected number of keys that you will store can help you in accurately construct the number of buckets that the database will require to store your keys.

If you want to access at the same time the environment by using an utility than don’t specify this flag, although for testing purposes you should try to set pro. This will ensure that a specified percent of the pages in the shared memory pool are clean, by writing dirty pages to their backing files.

If you are not using transactions because you don’t need ACID semantics, nor locking and logging, why would you not try to run a test without even having an environment? Since the keys varies in size, some extra step that you should consider, would be to use separate databases for the types of keys.

I want to know which view help me to find objects that are cache or keep in Db buffer Cache. The ‘Keep Pool’ is part of the Shared Pool and is used to keep executable objects procedures, functions, and packages in memory.

This can speed up loading and reduce parsing of these objects. The purpose of the KEEP pool seems to be to keep the table blocks in memory as much as possible eg: Especially when confronted with facts that are better than the ones I use right now.

Joel, you can always search for your questions and queries, most of the times it is getting answered. I followed the same process. For putting any queries OTN is always good.

Where anybody will defenetly answer. We’re facing similar issue on AIX and If resolved, what was done? Please through some light on the latches to the buffers cache.

How 3264 they work? How does the latch come into play in this event. As its a simple select statement shared lock do the 10 users get the rows security the same time or it is some thing like one user get the latch and other 9 users spin for the latch?

Please clarify how oracle handles such situations. The first one is representative of a “consistent get – examination” see Re: What’s “consistent gets – examination”? The second one is representative of a “consistent get – no work done” that cannot be done with an examination.

What does it mean by “shared access” of the block? What I have understood that since no change is needed so the buffer is marked as shared but I guess, pinning of it would be still needed to avoid it from being flushed out.

Can you please explain the shared access and exclusive access with and without pinning a little more? You don’t pin it if you think that you can read it very quickly. You pin it because you might want to visit it many times – this is particularly true of index branch blocks, of course, with the nested loop join being the best representative example – this a stops the block from being flushed from memory and b means you web have to the latch every time you visit the block.

If you want to change the block you have top mark the buffer as Exclusive – which you can’t do if other processes have it pinned whether in shared or exclusive mode. This means your pin may have to be attached to the “waiters queue” on the buffer header rather than the “users queue” until all the current users have unpinned the block.

This, technically, is what a “buffer busy wait” is about – your pin is attached to the waiters queue. The effect is not quite as bad as it first seems, because there are cases where you find a buffer pinned when you want it in exclusive mode, and pin it in shared mode i.

Is it the same as “touch count”? If yes, how can we seen it being decremented? The shared latch mechanism is essentially a counting mechanism. To acquire the latch you increment the counter, to release the latch you decrement the counter.

The code typically uses a ‘compare and swap’ atomic operation in the web loop. How to increase the buffer cache hit ratio and what are parameters effect the buffer cache hit ratio? It looks like you were almost 3264 to post the output in a readable format.

You posted the following: The Oracle 11g document provides a good description of what should be done if you are having problems with this latch: Excessive buffer cache throughput. For example, inefficient SQL that accesses incorrect indexes iteratively large index range scans or many full table scans; DBWR not keeping up with the dirty workload; hence, foreground process spends longer holding the latch looking for a free buffer; Cache may be too small.

Confused at what coudl have caused this. I appreciate any advice and let me know if there is any important information missing from my post. However, I tried this some more and identified the This issue is discussed internally.

If the user agrees, he can post the resolution on this topic. I have an Oracle The problem is the concurrent inserts, although I see CPU is fully utilized but I see that there is serialization happening in Oracle server and concurrency issues are the root cause and it is not maximizing CPU to do the real inserts.

May be someone can shed some light to improve the concurrency issue. Looking at the dictionary cache.. From here I’m bit lost and I do not know what the issue is.

I can see that a specific latch address is a problem, I do not not know what that latch i. Any help with resolving this issue or help with understanding “kqrpre: This seems to have helped, I do not see the “row cache objects” waits in recent AWR reports.

The volume of concurrent calls have increased and system seems to be scaling better. I believe that this ensures that rollback segments created by automatic undo are available for reuse immediately and there is less contention on row cache objects related to rollback segments to find the available rollback segment..

We have some very serious performance problems with our database. I have been trying to help by tuning the cache size, but the results are the opposite of what I expect.

To create new databases with my data set, it takes about seconds with a 32 Meg cache. Performance gets worse as the cache size increases, even though the cache hit rate improves!

I’d appreciate any insight as to why this is happening. That worsens as the test continues. We have 10 databases in 10 files sharing a database environment.

We are using a hash table since we expect data accesses to be pretty much random. We are using the default cache type: The database environment created with these flags: There is only one process accessing the db.

In my tests, only one thread access the db, doing only writes. We do not use transactions. Key size is 32 bytes, data size is 4 bytes. Using a 32 Meg cache, it took about twice as long to run my test: It looks like not flushing the cache regularly is forcing a lot more dirty pages and fewer clean pages from the cache.

Forcing a dirty page out is slower than forcing a clean page out, of course. I suppose I could try to sync less often than I have been, but more often than never to see if that makes any difference.

When I close or sync one db handle, I assume it flushes only that portion of the dbenv’s cache, not the entire cache, right? Is there an API I can call that would sync the entire dbenv cache besides closing the dbenv?

I start to read the note I don’t understand a phrase about the buffer cache latches. Anyone can help me to understand this issue with an example or something? Thanks to all Walter. The buffer cache is a memory structure that holds database blocks that have been requested to satisfy some SQL statement.

Each time Oracle needs to read one of these blocks in memory, it needs to acquire a latch a type of lock to prevent another process modifying the block while it is being read. Whenever it tries to acquire a latch and cannot, the latch miss count is incremented.

However, you can also see a high number of latch misses when you have some “hot” blocks. A hot block is one that is very frequently accessed by multiple processes. Since only one process can latch a block at a time, this causes a higher nmber of latch misses.

One of the more common causes of this type of activity is when you have a small lookup table that fits into one or two blocks. If this table is accessed frequently, then it will always be in buffer cache, and since everyone is trying to access it, it will frequently be latched, causing misses.

Since most of the latch misses are being caused by attempts to latch only these few blocks, then increasing the size of the buffer cache will not solve the problem. We come across a problem that our instance was down suddenly.

When checking with the alert log file, it shows that the instance was terminated due to error Did you come across such situation before? Any suggestions would be welcomed.

But I am unable to find any information about partition locks and hash bucket locks in the documentation. How are they used? How can I redesign my application so that it will require less of these.

I am not doing any explicit locking in my application and assume that these locks are there to synchronize access to the shared memory poool. Tue Sep 15 Thanks for your excerpt Aman sir.. And thanks Aman sir for your contribution too.

You in general don’t want to change them, because Oracle is really pretty good about allocating the buffers in the default buffer pool. So as demand for different objects changes, letting Oracle allocate as much memory as it can works out better than slicing out some memory to dedicate to some objects.

If an object has a lot of demand, it will naturally be kept in the buffers. The recycle buffer was more useful in earlier versions where some thrashing of the SGA might occur, even with full scans loading to the least recently used side of the buffer chain.

Nowadays, that doesn’t happen so much, various internal tracking has been modified, and with the ability to do direct reads into the PGA it is much less of a problem or if it is, you have some hardware shortage, or maybe some concurrency issues as undo needs to be accessed to get the proper view of the data.

The keep buffer, again, if they need to be kept, they should be warm enough to stick around. And if they aren’t quite warm enough for to stick around, maybe smart flash is for you. I have a BDB running in shared memory with no physical database file.

I have two identical processes running on two identical machines. After a week of use one of the servers is now failing while adding a record. The problem process is still able to add and remove records as well as walk the table.

However when it tries to add one specific record i get this error:. It appears that the database is having problems inserting data into one specific place in the database. One advantage is that it is likely it will appear on the other machine and the command on the other machine still works:.

Database is now syncing. Database could not be synced: My environment settings are below. I have used db for about a year and object databases such as GemStone for more than 10 years. I ran into unusual performance problems on Ubuntu 7.

In short, I have observed unusual performance degradation when benchmarking Berkeley DB versions 4. My Java benchmarking application is written in two parts.

The first part writes a couple of million unique keys to a BTree database using transactions within a shared environment. The second part reads the data. For simplicity I have not used concurrent threads or processes.

And using a private environment: So the read performance relative to write performance on Ubuntu 7. The write performance also degrades but on a more gradual curve. I am less interested in absolute numbers than the relative degradation.

With that said the 7. I am trying to pin down the variables that could be causing the problem. I have read all the docs as well as the apress Berkeley DB Book and have experimented with recompiling db, changing page sizes, disabling the locking subsystem, changing mutex alignments and cache sizes and am now finally looking for further advice: Thanks in advance, Roberto Faria Ps: The swappiness on all the machines 6.

I have experimented with different settings but it does not solve the problem. Despite the fact that one could use shared system memory on 7. I think this knowledge will help all 7.

By default get stored in application folder. Paul, The buffer cache is protected by Hash Buckets and the cache buffer chain latches protects them. They are used to search for the buffers which you are looking for which are linked by hash chains.

Hash chains So the blocks are in the bucket which are searched with the CBC chain latch and you need to pin it to come and access pin them. Now they are pinned in one go or in the order they are processed,I am not sure.

I am guessing that they should be pinned immediately when they are searched and are found. If the latch doesn’t allow to modify the block, why we need an additional pin at the block level?

I am not able to get it. Can you elaborate it one more time please? The search would be done using the CBC latch not “in” it. Rest appears to be correct in a glance. Buffer Manager I can find two entries as: Buffer cache hit ratio, Buffer cache hit ratio base.

I checked the BOL For the definition of Buffer cache hit ratio, It is mentioned as Percentage of pages found in the buffer cache without having to read from disk. Also I have not got any description about the Buffer cache hit ratio base.

Latch definition from google says: Latches are simple, low-level serialization mechanisms to protect shared data structures in the system global area SGA. Does this mean protects from aging as per LRU algorithm and getting removed from SGA or protect from other processes ,say from example from simultaneously DML operations.

See the reply of Jonathan Lewis and others in this thread re buffer busy waits what is the difference between buffer busy waits and free buffer waits.

Buffer busy waits – your session is waiting to do something to the current contents of a buffer, but another session is already doing something else to the contents that has to be completed before you can proceed.

And see this article by Tanel Poder about cache buffers chains lathes https: The CBC latch protects information controlling the buffer cache. Shared Pool Latches Impact is Waits for “library cache: Have a look at the docs already mentioned to you.

Before that, or at the same time, look through what is running in your database at that time. Just to get a feel for what’s happening. It’s occured on Oracle 8. Does anyone know if the following duplicate rows is valid?

What happened in the latch? I checked other database and didn’t found this issue. Also on this db server, the top wait event is ‘latch free’ but the latch is ‘Cache buffer chains’ latch which latch number is A mechanism to protect shared data structures in the System Global Area.

A server or background process acquires a latch for a very short time while manipulating or looking at one of these structures. The latch free event is updated when a server process attempts to get a latch, and the latch is unavailable on the first attempt.

Lack of statement reuse 2. Statements not using bind variables 3. Insufficient size of application cursor cache 4. Cursors closed explicitly after each execution 5. Underlying object structure being modified for example truncate 7.

Shared pool too small. Inefficient SQL that accesses incorrect indexes iteratively large index range scans or many full table scans. DBWR not keeping up with the dirty workload; hence, foreground process spends longer holding the latch looking for a free buffer 3.

Cache may be too small. Repeated access to a block or small number of blocks , known as a hot block 2. Many times, what I find, is they are all running the same query for the same data hot blocks.

If you find such a query — typically it indicates a query that might need to be tuned to access less blocks hence avoiding the collisions. If it is long buffer chains, you can use multiple buffer pools to spread things out.

You can use both together. Contention on this latch usually means that there is a block that is greatly contended for known as a hot block. This latch has a memory address, identified by the ADDR column.

ADDR of a heavily contended latch, this queries the file and block numbers:. Many blocks are protected by each latch. One of these buffers will probably be the hot block. Any block with a high TCH value is a potential hot block.

Perform this query a number of times, and identify the block that consistently appears in the output. After you have identified the hot block, you can identify the segment it belongs to with the following query:.

But let me re-mention that all credits here goes to Mr. Kirtikumar Deshpande and Mr. Gopalakrishnan, the authors of the great book I referenced at my post. Thu Feb 15 CKPT process terminated with error.

However, company2 should not be in the result set, since it does not have ford in either keywords1 or keywords2, as required. I tried adding that to your method and comparing it against mine and it looks like yours is more efficient.

Yours resulted in fewer recursive calls, consistent gets, and total latches. In order to try to conduct a realistic test, I set up identical tables, company for mine and companyb for yours.

I did one test using autotrace and timeing. I looped through a cursor 10, times, running two queries each time, the first with the original values of ford and garage to search for, that would return a small set of data, and the second using TABLE and VALID, instead of ford and garage, so that it would return a large portion of the table.

I have included my test and results below. I will put my setup script in a separate post, so that it is easier to see where one starts and the other begins. Let me know if you see anything in it that I misunderstood and was not as you intended.

Wed Jun 6 Own] 1References Thread status blocks: The caching you are seeing is in the filesystem cache maintained by the Linux kernel whenever any filesystem data is accessed.

You didn’t mention how much RAM the system has, but Linux will use whatever is available to cache files. My guess is that it’s the mostly the index that’s being cached, but that would depend on the specifics of your data and the queries.

A larger Berkeley DB cache should also help somewhat, but fundamentally the data has to get from disk to RAM and that’s going to take some time. One way to optimize this would be to first read all of the key pairs from the index without calling DB-associate for that secondary DB handle.

Then sort the primary keys into the order they would appear in the primary and read the data from the primary in order. If there are large sets of records, this could be a significant win over random access to the primary.

As of Sun’s JDK 1. HashMap forces the number of buckets to be a power of two whatever size you actually specify. This pretty much maximises your chance of collisions with a badly distributed hashCode function, and seems to go against all theory!!!

But, it has been enforced along with some clever rehashing to overcome the huge performance hit that the modulus operator for integer division has taken since JDK 1. Hi all I want to know what “latches” are.

What is run time area in PGA? I read the documents which says that Runtime area for update, delete, insert, create, alter is PGA. For Select statement is SGA. So an explanation is many times needed for what is already there in the documentation.

However, the following error message you posted in this thread is not related to license issue. It is a environment related issue. I have this problem on machines at a couple of remote sites where I’ve just set up a Super Agent and begun installing the McAfee Agent on client machines.

Everything looks fine on the install. However, on the client machines, the MA activity log seems to be missing some information, and I’m unable to confirm the client machines are pulling from the correct repository.

I’ve tried several options in the agent policy to point it to the correct repository, but it doesn’t make any difference. Below is a typical agent log as we would see it on our normally-functioning machines, followed by a log as it would appear on our problem machines.

Notice the first column lists the component that initiates the action. On the problem machines, we are seeing no events from the Updater component at all. The Updater component is what tells us which repository the agent is pulling from.

So I’m unable to tell which repository it’s using, or if it’s even connecting to a repository at all. Am I missing something? Not sure I understand how, but I wasn’t aware that the Deployment Task had anything to do with the Updates component.

But I started looking at the Deployment Task. What I did was a couple of things: Don’t know if that had anything to do with anything. I edited the Deployment Task for the client machines to change McAfee Agent from “Ignore” to “Install” the agent was already installed anyway and ticked the box that says “run task at every policy enforcement interval”.

Did an agent wakeup call, and badda bing, the agent log showed the Updater pointing to the correct SA repository. Something else I noticed that was weird–some of the clients at the remote site showed up with the MA installed, even before any Deployment Task was enabled.

I thought maybe it was a vestige of some McAfee product that had been installed in the past, but I’m told no McAfee products of any kind had ever been installed.

So I’m not sure how these machines got the agent installed, but that might have possibly had something to do with it. On to the next problem Could not attach file ‘C: Hi bipin9, Have you solved this issue?

The client needs to perform a remote EJB operation, so we invoke a UserTransaction in a Business method, calling commit both for the remote Tx and then for the local Tx Manager if there were no errors.

According to logs both EJB and Spring do their respective commits. At times, both DBs get updated. Other times, only Spring side gets updated. Seems related to server load, but we havent really identified a pattern.

Business methods on client are marked as transactional propagation: Remote transactions are acquired invoking. Begin for action-id 0: End for action-id 0: We could use some help understanding the log output, we would like to know if that output is the expected output for the remote UserTransaction.

It sounds like you have two completely separate transactions in play here. I suspect you haven’t configured the spring side of things to participate in the existing JTA transaction.

You wouldn’t expect to need to call “commit” twice for a transaction i. Try to get it working with just the one transaction, you will probably have to configure something in spring to lookup the UserTransaction.

I have a late Macbook pro 2. I recently upgraded to Lion. I also have Motion 5 and Garageband Is Logic 9 compatible with this? Would Logic 9 mess up anything with Garageband 11 or Motion 5?

I could wait at most two weeks, if I knew for certain that Logic X was coming out within 2 weeks, and that I would be able to download it through the Mac App store. Otherwise I would need Logic Studio 9 to work on my project.

Unlike FCP, there doesn’t seem to be any news or decent rumors coming out about logic. I imagine that the new version would just be a price drop and simplifying of tools. I also can’t imagine downloading 50GB from the app store — Its more than my monthly cap.

I guess it would be easier to decide for certain if there was some concrete information. On the otherhand, if I make enough money from my projects, and finish them sooner by getting the available version of Logic now, I won’t mind so much if a new version comes out.

What I’m most concerned about is how well Logic 9 plays on Lion. But I don’t want to have to reinstall anything because Logic 9 messes anything up. I’ve been going through some of the posts discussing Spotlight and Time Machine issues but couldn’t find anything related to my current issue.

Here is what’s happening: For no reason or an unknown one , but ever since I have upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion, Time Machine Time Capsule has difficulties with the backup disk and quits.

It also shows a strange behavior in actually mounting the Time Machine Volume, but without assigning the Time Machine icon it shows the default white mounted volume icon instead.

It also opens a finder window and points to the Backup. In parallel to mounting the Time Machine volume, mds spits out some messages, which makes me think that they both might interfere. The entire log is here: Mounted network destination at mountpoint: Waiting 60 seconds and trying again.

Network destination already mounted at: Giving up after 3 retries. AFPSendSpotLightRPC failed -1I can temporarily repair the issue by either following Pondini’s advice and mounting the sparsebundle and do a repair using Diskutil which never shows any errors or unmounting the volume using umount -f and prior to that killing the mds process.

Unfortunately, there is no indication whether Spotlight is acutally doing something with the Time Machine but something prevents the drive from unmounting, I guess mds.

It would be great if anyone can help and shed some light on this issues. I have the same problem found a solution? Process 1, Nbr I’m still getting random disconnects. Trying to play an online game like World of Warcraft is very frustrating because it disconnects every couple minutes.

There is a column in the excel which is Date and Time, this field when displayed in the rich client shows time to be an hour later. Surprisingly this is happening for the months Dec, Jan, Feb, March.

All other months show up as Hi, I have a range of cells formatted as ‘Text’. I use the below code to import data into various columns. The Select Case part just selects the text column to paste, and the XL column to paste into.

Resetting the formatting to text does not recover the original data, but returns the 5-digit XL date code number as expected I have tried changing the. PreserveFormatting line from True to False, but it makes no difference.

Could any of you please provide update querry for the following scenario. Under the surface, I want the to convert to hours worked to be calculated at the end of the schedule week for total hours scheduled Convert time in to hours worked But it could be 4 AM to 11 PM, based on your and examples.

It would behoove you to represent hours based on hour time; thus, 11 means 11 AM, but 23 means 11 PM. Consequently, perhaps should be , although it does not matter for and by coincidence. Second, it is unclear whether ” Third, there is the problem of entering time ranges in that form.

Ostensibly, Excel might interpret them as short-dates, depending on your Regional and Language control panel settings. Presumably you solved that problem either by prefixing the time ranges with an apostrophe aka single-quote or by formatting the cells as Text before entering the data.

Finally of course, there is the problem that you recognize and want to solve: Ignoring the ambiguity mentioned above first problem and assuming you have one time range per cell second problem in columns B through G starting in row 2, for example, one solution might be:.

Arguably, it would be better if you entered each part of a time range as actual Excel time in separate cells, for example start time in column B and end time in column C formatted as a Time subtype.

If you might have swing shifts, it would behoove you to include the date, even if it is not displayed; that simplifies the subtraction. You need to decide how to lay out the days, for example B: C for day1, D: E for day2, etc.

That example layout can be difficult to deal with; but the difficulty is not insurmountable. There is a group of us comcast customers that are trying to play a game in LA and haveing latency issues. We have narrowed down that it is a Comcast issue and are wonfering how we may go about getting it fixed.

Tracing route to k2network-iclas-bb1. This is just my traceroute, There are many others that show this same problem with the jump to the K2network. It seems to be comcast that we all have in common.

These traceroutes don’t really provide enough information to know where things are going wrong. They show the path taken from your computer to the server, but not the path back Internet packet routing is generally NOT symmetric.

What we see is that things are fine until we get into the Telia network, so it looks like there’s a problem with the way it sends traffic back to you. We’d need to see a traceroute from the server to your IP to see where that’s going wrong.

What we can see, though, is that Telia and Comcast don’t connect directly with each other. In the outgoing direction, traffic goes through as Telia must be using a different intermediary to send the traffic back, and that’s presumably where the problem is.

No, adding a line to your Family Share plan will not change your upgrade date. If you sign a contract on the new line, it will have different dates from the other two lines on you plan. On the whole, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Hiwe are facing issue in few new sytems, when sccm is installed, we can see the following msg mirror driver installation many times in the ccmexec. Please do the needfulfollowing are the logs captured from the ccmexec.

I wonder if you found a solution to this? Hello everyone, i have a early macbook 1,1 with a gb hard drive, OSX When i bought the computer a few weeks back it had the origional Tiger installed on it, and as you know, you cant really do much with it.

So i went out and bought a a retail version of Snow Leapord, 2×1 GB of Kingston Ram pc ddr2 and a new battery. Before i did the install of SL i decided to install the ram and make sure its all going to work ok, the computer started super fast, and ran amazing.

I then started to install SL. The install went great and SL started up. I went through, set up my accounts and so forth and did a restart. It took 9 min and 30 seconds to start from being turned off.

I thought, maybe it was just cause it was one of the first times starting on the new os or maybe it needed to be updated. So once the desktop was up i did all the software updates for the computer and restared.

I tried restarting again, nothing.. Installed it, put SL on it, and still no difference Iv tried so much, just not sure what it could be. I have another fourm going on on a different site, but it seems people have lost interest in helping with this annyoing issue.

Here is a link to the other forum, it has a lot more info and a list of all the tricks iv tried to make the computer work, but nothing has worked: Anyways, here is what i have come up with on where i think the problem could be.

Here is the code on my startup: WindowServer[72] Fri Aug 19 I kept on getting a “dimensionSize param invalid” error trying to create a 20, georaster, since it had a single band, but using 21, instead works.

On my first read of of the Georaster dev guide I assumed 20, was required for a single-band georaster, but 21, is apparently for “one or more” bands georasters, so that apparently includes single-band ones as well.

What’s the point of having a 1 or 0 then? So this is i think about consistency, if we put oracle expect the number of cell in band dimension to be defined, while for the DB expect us not to define band dimension.

The document georaster 11g dev guide at. The number of values in the array must be equal to the total number of dimensions, and the size of each dimension must be explicitly specified. The row and column dimension sizes must be greater than 1.

I am facing issues while setting data type, precision, length for fields in ICT. The datatype specified for all columns is string with default length of The data I am setting is beyond this length but the issue is whenever I set the length to more than this either the application crash, connection reset or read method fail error comes.

If I skip the column with large data like one below everything works fine. The issue is the string literal I want to process is too long. Please give pointers to handle this situation. Contact Informatica Global Customer Support.

This is my output from Prod. I tried with the documention from oracle support. I reached till Step: I have the following exception occur every couple of seconds. Does anyone else have this issue with 6.
